1999, The government orders Fannie and Freddie to start making risky loans:

In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders.

2003, Republicans respond to reports of the impending collapse of Fannie and Freddie by proposing stricter regulations.

2008: Four years after DEMOCRATS blocked republican proposals for increased regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac the housing market collapsed. Democrats accused republicans especially the Bush administration of exactly what they themselves are guilty of.

2009:To protect their contributors democrats attacked anyone who had the audacity to suggest that Fannie and Freddie weren’t doing fantastic in 2004. In 2008, when Fannie and Freddie collapsed it sent our economy into a tailspin that has caused immense pain and suffering. Democrats blocked the proposals that could have averted our current crisis to protect a cash cow that was making them personally rich. They lie because they know that their actions were criminal. The LEAST they deserve is defeat in 2010!
